Names for Grandparents!

With all of the comments on what we should call the grandparents, I thought it would be best to put my opinion in an official post. I am not overly opinionated about much, but I do care about this one!! I like grandma. I want good old fashion grandma and grandpa. No mee-maws, pee-paws, papas, mawmaws, nannies, grannies, nanas.....grandma and grandpa please and thankyou. And as the only one who is not sharing in motherly bliss right now (and not getting to name a child), I think I should be entitled to this decision. :o)

    One more thing... No matter what you choose, these babies will choose your name (AT LEAST for the first couple years). My "Meme" wanted to be Grandma. My friend Brittany's mom wanted "GiGi" but she's "CiCi". So go with Grandma & we'll see what the grandbabies end up with! :)

    Note to Bobby: Chase will love me & Uncle Chris better than you(for your "favorite uncle" comment on the ultrasound pics)because I provide him with a playmate. You can do the same if you would like, I'm sure NO ONE will mind. Then I MIGHT share the title. :) lol. jk.

    I think I agree with Trista too...I never had a Grandma. I missed out on that one. Plus, Gramma and Grampa just sounds too Yankee to me...we live in Arkansas! I agree with Kera too..It will probably be some combination of whatever we try to call you and "mama", because that's what the babies will hear you called...I bet we end up with Grandmama.

    I don't know...He better act happy, or he might end up being called what my dad's dad was called...Grumpy! Lol...I'm sure no matter how hard we try, he will be Grampa.

    Well as one of many soon to be teachers in this GREAT MIXED NUT FAMILY ... I will have to ALWAYS correct them until they call me GRANDPA ... no ifs, ands or buts about it ... Yes its the YANKEE in me and the last time I looked we won the WAR so........ until the SOUTH wins ( and we know that will NEVER HAPPEN) it will be GRANDPA....

    UNLESS its a GRANDDAUGHTER .... then I guess I will let her get away with murder like someone else we know did and call me whatever she likes .... LOL

    Okay...question...How does the civil war have any weight in this decision?! Only you could skew an argument about something like this in such a strange historical direction....grandpaawwww...
