This was the second ultra sound that I got to go with Kera to and it was confirmed 100% that Greg and I will have 2 grandson's by early May.

Caden was sleeping during the ultra sound, again (like father like son)!!!! Chris could sleep through anything as well. He weighed 12oz and the due date is still around May 7th

Speaking of gigs, I did get asked to be the Sound Director for the Village Players' production of "On Golden Pond." The performances will be during the last week of February and the first week of March. Maybe Chase can come see his favorite uncle working live sound! :)

Hi everybody!

So, I am in my last week at Holcomb before the Christmas break! I am so excited! I am also thrilled about the two little nephews that are coming in the year 2010. I would be lying if Bobby and I said we weren't expecting some hand-me downs. :o)

Bobby recently got a job as the sound director for a play called "On Golden Pond." This is exactly the kind of experience he is needing in order to kick start his career in the "sound field." Maybe everybody can make plans to come see it in February?? That would be fun.

I love you all, and I can't wait to see everybody for Christmas!

We went to the doctor this morning & found out that we're having a boy!! The name will be Caden Aaron Gross. :) His legs were crossed AND folded when we first got him on "camera"... (He's stubborn like me & Chris already!!) The doctor said everything looked great & that we are looking at a big baby. We go back in 2 weeks for a more high-tech ultra sound where they will inspect his organs, etc. I will post those pictures when we get them. We are soooo thrilled & can't wait to give baby Chase a little play buddy. Love you all & miss you.

We went to the baby doctor today, and I thought I'd give everyone a little update...everything is wonderful and healthy and moving along, and no worries...no one will be getting on the bed and pushing my baby out for me. Dr. Cardenas looked at me like I was crazy when I told him about that. I go back again on Dec. 16th and that is when they start checking me to see if I am dilating and all that...isn't that crazy!?! We are getting so ready for him to be here. We have his room almost all set up, and hopefully we'll be getting the few last minute things done to the house finished up in the next few weeks. Feel free to come help and/or look at cute baby stuff any time you want to!!

Baby

I haven't posted in forever, so I thought it was about time. We are 3 weeks away from finding out what the baby is! I'm curious to what everyone's opinions are on what it will be!? So comment & vote, so we can see who will be correct. :)
Other news...UCA has got me done on April 9 of next year, which is an entire month early! That will give me plenty of time to prepare for the baby..What a blessing!
I am also able to feel the baby move now, which is the best feeling in the world. The only down side is.. I only feel it move when my legs are up (& it's being smooshed). I quickly move because I just know that its way of saying "MOVE, MOM!!" haha.

What a wonderful shower we had in Houston!! I can't wait until the shower this coming Sunday. I have not seen the baby's room yet and I here it is full of lot's of goodies for Baby Chase!!

Ignorant Muggles

I have just finished reading the 5th book in the Harry Potter series. I must admit at first I did not think I would be a Harry Potter fan, but I totally am! I wish magic were real. And not that floofy in love magic.....real magic, with wands and everything! I relayed this want to Jordan, and she honestly made me feel better by saying "Maybe magic is real, and we are just ignorant muggles." If that is not food for thought people....I don't know what is.

Updates

Hello All,
So we went to the baby dr. again yesterday, and all is well. I had to get a gestational diabetes test, and we don't have the results yet, but everything else looked fine and dandy. His heartbeat was 141, and I gained three more pounds (if you're counting..lol). We go back again on November 11, and every two weeks until I get to the last month. Only thirteen more weeks until we will be able to hold him and love him and dress him up in all his little clothes!

Also, here's a little story to make you all feel better about your day: Today I have a paper due at 5:00 for my Truth, Order and Beauty class...I have one due every week, and they grade super hard, but I got an A on my last one, and was hoping to keep the momentum going. So I got to school at 8:00 this morning, and got to working on it, and just when I finished up and was doing my proofreading, the electricity went out! Half my paper was gone...I really almost cried, but I held it together and retyped a crappier version of what I had already done, which took almost an extra hour. It isn't as good as the first version, but at least it's done. So this is a reminder to you all to save your work so you don't have to learn the hard way, because it SUCKS!

Other than that...everything is wonderful, and we all lovelovelove you very much!

BILLY JOEL and ELTON JOHN are coming to Little Rock the weekend after Thanksgiving! Tickets go on sale this saturday at 10:00. Please, please, please someone share in my excitement. The cheap tickets are $52.......

Baby Chase

Hello All!
Just wanted to give you a quick baby update...we went to the Dr. yesterday, and he said for me to stop worrying about how big I look, because my date is right, and the baby is normal sized. Everyone carries babies differently based on how they are built....I have a short, thin torso, so basically there is nowhere for the baby to go but out. I guess I will just look huge by the end, but that will be okay, as long as he gets here safely. I go back in two weeks to get my gestational diabetes test done, and from now on, I will go back every two weeks until the last month and then once a week....everything is moving along!

Grandma and Grandpa is WINNING!

Ok... so Trista should be very happy that Grandma and Grandpa are winning! I have a request can we add the second grandchild to the countdown? Maybe Baby Nut #2..... Chris and Kera's due date is April 21st! I am so excited that next year we will have two new additions to our family. We just keep growing and growing and it is wonderful! I love you all...

Names for Grandparents!

With all of the comments on what we should call the grandparents, I thought it would be best to put my opinion in an official post. I am not overly opinionated about much, but I do care about this one!! I like grandma. I want good old fashion grandma and grandpa. No mee-maws, pee-paws, papas, mawmaws, nannies, grannies, nanas.....grandma and grandpa please and thankyou. And as the only one who is not sharing in motherly bliss right now (and not getting to name a child), I think I should be entitled to this decision. :o)

New Stuff

Hi everyone!

You might notice some new stuff on here... I've been working to try to make the site better for everyone. For instance, the "Song of the Week" has been replaced by a custom playlist for everyone. It is at the bottom of the site now, and has a lot more functionality. You can suggest songs to add to (or remove from) our playlist, and I can do it very easily. Cool huh!?

Also, I've added a link to my TwitPic stream (below). Basically this is lets everyone see the images I take with my phone. I usually just post these to Twitter, but now they will go here too!

Probably the coolest new feature is the chat box above. Anytime two or more Nuts are online we can chat with each other. All you have to do is click the "change nickname" text and type in your name. If you want you can get a Meebo account and it will let everyone know when you're online (like it does for me at the top). It's not mandatory though! You can still chat without it if you know someone else is on... Even if no one is on you can type a message and I will get it when I sign back in ("leave a message").

If there is anything else you want to see on the site or anything you think would make it more useful or fun just let me know and I'll see what I can do!

Hey everyone...just wanted to give you a quick update on baby stuff...not that there is much news, but today is a big day!
We're at twenty weeks now, so we're halfway there!!! We go on Thursday for our next checkup and ultrasound and we will officially know if it is a girl or boy and if everything is healthy! Be putting all your positive energies out there for that...also, I think the baby is going to be a genious. It is always completely awake and kicking and moving during my classes, so he or she is already hearing some pretty good english lectures!
We probably won't see anyone until the wedding unless you come down here, so I love you all and have a great weekend and week next week and ANSWER YOUR PHONE ON THURSDAY because Michael and I want to be the ones to tell you!

School! School! School!

So, grad school has started for me. Things are going pretty good right now.....nothing to dramatic or ridiculous. I love my little first graders! They are so precious. I am with first grade for the first 9 weeks, then I go to kindergarten for 18 weeks, and then 3rd grade for 9 weeks. And then I can actually do it for money!

I was reading "Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse," by Kevin Henkes, to the kids the other day. There was a very simple quote in it that I liked a lot, and I thought maybe I would share....

"Today was a difficult day. Tomorrow will be better."

I was just wondering...what are everyone's final guesses on the sex of the baby. Only a few more weeks now, and I want to tabulate it all up of who thinks which!

September 5 -- "Pamper the Bride Shower" Lingerie/Bridal Shower @ 4pm. This will be at Elizabeth's home. Girls only. :)

September 19 -- Girls go to Conway for my Bridal Shower thrown by my MOH, Jessica. I recently registered @ the Kitchen Store in Conway, which is not listed on the invitations. [The coolest stuff in the world]

September 19 -- Boys stay in Cabot at Elizabeth's home for Chris's "Honey-do/Tool Shower". I'm mailing the invitations tomorrow. It starts @ 5pm & there is a razorback game @ 6:45 to watch on ESPN afterwards. Also, Chris is registered @ home depot.

Hello All,

We got to go to the baby Dr. again today, and everything went wonderful! Heard the heartbeat again and it was nice and strong. They said my uterus (sp?) was a little larger than average at this point, which only means that we are going to have a nice, fat, healthy baby! We go back for another ultrasound on September 17th, so pretty soon we'll have new pictures to put up! Anyway, thats about all I've got, but I just thought I'd let you all know that everything is good and healthy.

News!

Hello All,

Just thought I would update you all on some new developments. I decided to go ahead and start back to school next semester to work on getting my Masters degree, and I got accepted at Henderson. After talking to a few people I was offered a Graduate Assistanceship working in the Writing Center on campus. It will pay for my school and $2000 stipened per semester. Michael and I are really excited about it, because it gives me a new opportunity to make money until the baby comes since I won't be able to waitress at the truckstop much longer anyway. It's going to be really good for me, because if things go well, I may end up being able to teach some freshman english classes in a year or so, and that could help me get an adjunct faculty position after I graduate! Also, more good news: I won't have to work on the weekends anymore, so hopefully that means we will be getting to see you all more often!!
Anyway...just thought I'd share our good news! I know everyone is getting ready for school and other things to start, so I send you all my positive energies for the begining of your new year!!!

And don't have much updating to do on the baby front...I go back to the Dr. next week, and I think they have to do a lot of tests, so everyone be praying that those go well. Then, in 4 weeks I go back for another ultrasound!! Other than that....I only know that I am getting bigger and bigger by the day...I think the baby is a little bigger than a softball now, and I'm pretty sure I can feel her/him moving around a little bit sometimes! We are starting to work on the baby room and the new guest room this week.

P.S. Do any of you know anyone who might have some maternity clothes I could buy or borrow?? It's hard to find things that fit these days, and I have to have some dressier clothes to work in at my new job. I plan on going shopping in a week or so, but if any of you know anyone who might want to get rid of some maternity clothes or let me borrow them if they aren't using them now, any help is appreciated!!! So I figured out why my fountain never has water in it...

You guys are TOO funny...

So how about I do a little explaining. First of all, I never in my life imagined how STRESSFUL a wedding would be. From about my second month of being engaged I thought, "I hate this. If I could 'get away' with doing it small, I would." I'm not trying to point any fingers, more like give thanks to, some people that I had deep conversations with about doing what I really wanted no matter what. I am not the one to normally give-in to that, but in the end, that's what we decided to do. With that being said, my small/intimate ceremony will be in either October/November. The people who will attend besides the basic wedding staff are: parents, siblings, & grandparents. It's not that I didn't want to spend that time with everyone, it's just that I wanted it to be very intimate. It will take place @ my dad's home. Since I'm not having 500 people attending, I can do all the nice things that I wanted from the get-go. I can afford $4 chair covers & even a nice dinner served. Please don't hate me for this, I promise I'm not trying to be selfish. I also talked to Elizabeth about doing a BIG "reception" on another date @ her house to celebrate everything. ALL of the family & friends will be invited to this! :) Can someone tell me when Lauren's getting married, btw?? As soon as I talk to everyone about what date is best, I will give you a for sure date. I'm sorry to have thrown anyone off by changing the date & the set-up so many times. I hope you all still love me!

Opinions on Wedding next May!

First of all, Happy Birthday Jordan. Second of all, Happy 7 days until the cruise people!! :)

After, lots & lots & lots (like that grammer?) of arguing with my dad. I have really been considering his idea of everyone staying the Friday night [May 28] after the Rehearsal Dinner in Mountain View before mine & Chris's wedding that Saturday [May 29]. I really hate for people to have to make that ride twice, especially since most of you guys are in the wedding party. Also... I cannot even describe to you how beautiful of a town it is. I would love for you all to experience it. It is VERY country (dancing on the square & singing blue grass). But I love it. There is also Blanchard Springs Caverns 15 minutes away. It has gorgeous Springs, Creeks (for swimming & jumping off bluffs), & then the Caverns themselves. What I'm trying to say is that even if we just hung out around the town Saturday before the ceremony began, it would be a lot of fun. With that being said, here are some rates for my favorite "resort"...Jack's Fishing Resort (this is located on the white river, with canoes & fishing). It's Cabins are located directly beside our Rehearsal sight, "Jo Jo's Catfish House". There are also Hidden Valley Cabins & motels all around. It's a very small & inexpensive town. The rates for Jack's cabins are:

2 BR / 1 BA w/ 4 sleeper sofas - sleeps 12 - $165
3 BR / 2 BA w/ 2 sleeper sofas - sleeps 10 - $165

Rates are for 4 persons per cabin. Additional adults $10 each / children $5 each, per night

That's like $20/person. Not bad.

I need your opinions, plllleeeassseee!!! Would we rather stay in Cabot that Friday & drive back & forth, or stay in Mountain View. I'm beginning to lose sleep over this silly issue. Comment & vote what you think. Btw, the drive from Cabot to Mountain View is around 1 hour & 30 minutes, A LOT of curves, but a very scenic drive.

Note: Weddings are stressful. Too many opinions. I see why people elope. Jk...kind of.

That's right! June 29 was Boston's very first birthday! He had a full day of fun with his new bone from Grandma Frantal and his new camo collar from Grandma Hough. We took him for a long walk and played with him in the yard. Below is a video of him opening his new collar...

Baby!

We got to see the baby today, and it is the most beautiful sweet looking teenie tiny baby that ever got made! We could see it's little arms moving around, and can even see it's face a little bit in some of the pictures. We heard it's heartbeat...165 beats per minute! Other than that, the doctor said everything looked healthy and wonderful. They moved the due date up to January 29th, too. So mark your calenders!!!

Yellow Pole...

So I just wanted to thank everyone who was here this past weekend to help with my little accident. For those of you who missed it... Saturday night, as I was innocently driving up to Wal-Mart (my almost daily routine), my car scraped down a huge yellow pole. After getting the top part buffed out (THANK YOU Greg & Bobby!!) the picture above is what we have left. In the words of Chris... this is my 3rd wreck, & all three things I hit were stationary, lol. That's very sad.

One more thank you to those who made my step brother feel welcome this weekend. I know it's a little awkard sometimes to mix company like that, but everything went wonderfully & I had a blast sucking at bowling. :)

American Idol Audition!

Hi everyone! We have made it to the Dallas audition (we are actually in Arlington) and have our wristbands securely in place! Looking forward to a full day of rest tomorrow since I was able to register very early (2am)!

Hey everyone! Bobby posted his video for online idol. Three former American Idols are the judges, so now we just have to wait and see what happens. Saturuday June 20th!

I am so excited everyone Michael & Jordan and Trista & Bobby are coming home!

We will have a family party this Saturday night!

Idol Audition Update

Hi all!

Well, we've booked the hotel for the Dallas audition! The venue is actually the new Cowboys Stadium in Arlington. We will be staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Arlington.

Also found out that I have to have three songs prepared. Instruments are NOT allowed for the first three rounds, so I'll be singing a capella. I believe we've settled on the perfect song for the first selection. I'll be singing an arrangement of "At Last" by Etta James. Of course I will do more of a Christina Aguilera spin. I think it will be a nice angle to go in with.

I'll keep everyone updated as we choose the next two songs!

Hello All,
I have discovered new books that are awesome and very similar to Twilight. Its the Sookie Stackhouse Novels by Charlaine Harris (who by the by is actually from Arkansas...only about 45 minutes away from Gurdon). They are actually the books that the HBO show True Blood is based on. There are alot of them too...I am currently on the fourth book, and I can't put them down. Its sort of like a more adult version of Twilight, if you will, and the books are only like five bucks each at Walmart...anyway, just thought I'd throw that out there for anyone who's looking for some easy summer reading!

Baby News!!

Hello All,
So we went to the doctor today, and he thinks I am about 5 1/2 weeks right now. That puts my due date around January 30! I go back on January 29 for an ultrasound. He said the cyst was totally normal, and would go away as things progress. That was really about all...oh and they took seven vials of my blood..seven. Which incidentally is the same number of pregnancy tests I took before I went to the doctor, tying for the most any of his patients have taken...haha. I hope this kid isn't already inheriting (sp?) my obsessiveness....
Anyway, that's all I know!

Hey Nuts!

What's going on out there? I feel like everyone dropped off the face of the earth!

Well, there's a new song playing.... it's Michael Buble. I figured the only one who would complain would be Greg, but that didn't stop me. :)

Mama's Birthday Update

Ok everybody. I have some news...neither good or bad I don't think. I have been sceduled to work a choreography camp June 4-6. I would have said "heck no," but the money is waaaayyyyy too good to turn down, and let's face it, we are going on a cruise in July that won't pay for itself.

So, I would like to propose we have Mama's birthday party on June 21. I really want to see everybody, and I would love to celebrate Mama's birthday as a family. Plus, this will allow her to celebrate the whole month of June, and we all know how excited I get about birthday months. Anyway, let me know what you think!
