Chase's Blood Work

Just want to let everyone know that Chase's bloodwork came back totally normal!! He is one hundred percent healthy now, and weighed almost ten pounds on wednesday! Thanks for all the prayers...I guess somebody is watching out for him!

Okay family...so I need your prayers and positive thoughts and whatever it is that you do. We got a call yesterday that Chase's newborn screening came back abnormal on his thyroid hormone. We had to go back for another blood test today, and should be getting the results back tomorrow or Friday. If they come back elevated, he may have a condition called Congenital Hypothyroidism...he would have to take hormone replacements his whole life. Obviously we are all really nervous, so please pray that we get good news and that, if we don't, we are able to be strong and take good care of our sweet little boy and hopefully he never has to feel the effects of anything. And while you're at it, going back to school and the looming prospect of going back to work have been SOOOO unbelievably stressful and scary while trying to learn how to be a mommy, so feel free to pray for that whole situation as well. Thanks for everything...for all the love and support. We love you all and can't wait to see you next weekend at the shower! (Stephanie, are you coming? It's been way too long since we've seen you...I believe the last time was actually before I was pregnant. We miss you!!)

Update on Caden...

I just wanted to let update you guys on the pregnancy thus far. We went to the doctor on Monday & got to see the little guy on an ultrasound. He weighs 2 lbs 4 oz and he is also already head-down!! We still like a couple months, but he is as ready to come out as I am ready for him to, haha. My doctor informed me that once they do it at this point, they will most likely stay the rest of the time head-down. He is also a very active little guy, and loves to elbow? me in the hip bone & kick me in the ribcage. (Trista & all of you future mommies, this gives you something to look forward to, haha!) The only bad news I have is about MY weight.. haha, jk!

For those who haven't heard, we have also decided that I will stay at home with him for a year before going into teaching. During this time, I will be getting my masters online. UCA has an amazing program that was originally set up for first-year teachers to get their masters while teaching... almost the entire thing is given online! So this is a HUGGGGEEE blessing. I have prayed so hard for an opportunity to stay at home just the first year for a long time & my prayers have been answered!

I can't wait to see all of you guys at the upcoming showers. Hope all is well.

updates

Hi everybody,
I just wanted to post and let everyone know that baby Chase is doing wonderful. Sorry I haven't been able to answer all your calls and texts. My phone isn't working that great, and I just am not able to walk around the house to try to find service all the time like I used to, and I usually forget to call everyone back when we do get out of the house. Hopefully I will have a new phone this week sometime. Anyhoo...things are going really good. Really, really busy. Chase gained 5 1/2 ounces by his one week apointment, and he keeps eating, eating, eating all the time! He's had his days and his nights a little backward, but we're trying to fix it. In the mean time, that makes for a very tired Jordan and Michael. I started back to school today, which was pretty rough. I hate leaving the baby, and I feel totally overwhelmed by how behind I am with my classes, and just my ability to keep up in general now that I have a little baby to take care of. Other than that, everything is great, and we can't wait to see ya'll again at the shower the end of this month. No telling how big this little boy will be by then!
